09 June 2014 by Rida Daher

One of the biggest Environmental Events in the UK is set to take place here in Bristol from the 14th to the 22nd of June. Described as the UK’s festival of eco ideas, the Big Green Week is set to put Bristol on the path as the greenest European Capital for 2015. The week culminates in over 150 events, of which half are free.

Over 50,000 visitors are expected to participate in the event this year. This year’s programme includes a variety of events related to art and fashion, family, food and markets, talks and debates, film, walks and tours, music, comedy, theatre and poetry, conferences and workshops.

Big Green Week is about inspiring change. It catches the essence of Bristol, its creativity, and its uncompromising belief that there is a better way. The 2014 program promises a wide range of exciting events which families can enjoy. This includes a treasure hunt across Bristol Harbourside, a (Re)Cycle Art show exhibition, an initiative to green the pavements on the upper part of Gloucester road, a Bristol festival of wild nature, a tea house party on College Green and many more. Check out the full agenda here.

SustainIt will obviously be taking part in many of the events across the Big Green Week including, but not limited to, the RBS Innovation Gateway launch, and a 2015 General Election debate which promises an answer to the question : ‘’ Will we get the Greenest Government Ever in 2015?’’.
