Sustainability Live @NEC Birmingham
04 April 2014 by Rida Daher
From the 1st to the 3rd April, 213 businesses exhibited to thousands of visitors looking for ways to make their business more sustainable. Everyone had a story to tell. Themes of major exhibitors spread around the latest recycling technologies, energy from waste initiatives and techniques, environmental management tools and programs, accreditation schemes, and most importantly social engagement activities like our SustArt exhibition.
SustArt this year displayed a huge 15m board asking people: ‘’What’s your Impact? ‘’. Armed with coloured pencils and pens, people then started to share their thoughts on the board. SustArt attracted many visitors and it was one of the most popular themes that intrigued participation. Ideas on the board were related to sustainable fishing, organic farming, resource efficiency, biomimicry, rain harvesting, circular economy, and even carbon footprint in space!
Hence, yet again another SustArt event proved itself a success. As a premium social engagement activity enabling everyone to share their voice, SustArt; a 2degress awards Social Value category nominee, helped make sustainability a fun topic.
